Sue Smith began as the Harker archivist in 2003, and in 2005 she became campus librarian at the upper school. In 2010, Ms. Smith took over as K-12 library director.

Prior to librarianship, Ms. Smith enjoyed a 22-year career selling components to leading electronics companies worldwide, most recently as vice president of sales. She graduated magna cum laude from Duke, and has graduate credits toward an M.B.A. at the University of Minnesota.

Ms. Smith has a passion for teaching research skills and frequently speaks at Bay Area conferences, including Internet @ Schools West. She serves as steering committee chair of the Harker Information Literacy Committee. In her free time, Ms. Smith enjoys playing golf, cooking and camping with her family. And, of course, reading!
